Tolman was praised for her portrayal of Minnesota the Police officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair said that Tolman "calmly took over" the show. Tolman won the Critics' Choice Television Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress in the category of Films/Miniseries. In addition to that, her nominations for Best Actress were received at the Emmy Awards as well as the Golden Globes.
